What is the Black Knight GPS Tracker?
The 'LLB' is a compact, rugged GPS tracking device that has been designed for tracking containers, trailers, skip bins, and other assets where super-long battery life is required without sacrificing the frequency of updates and performance.
Black Knight devices do not contain a removable, interchangeable SIM, unlike most telecommunication devices. Instead, it transmits using a powerful semiconductor chip (micro SIM) built in to the motherboard which cannot be removed or replaced. This is a key security feature of Black Knight, in that the device cannot be compromised or reused if stolen.

How does it work?
The LLB will allow you to track the location of your van throughout each hire and the information will all be accessible via your owner dashboard.
The tracking platform has been carefully designed to deliver the information you need most, when you need it. Powerful and intuitive, you'll have access to meaningful visual maps, customised alerts and reporting, helping you simply and easily track your caravan, motorhome, camper trailer or campervan.
Black Knight trackers use 3G networks because of its wider coverage, and 3G is more than adequate to handle the minimal amounts of data sent by the tracker.
Why 3G and not 4G?
4G networks are faster, but they do not cover as much area as 3G.
The LLB unit is powered by a rechargeable battery, we recommend that you charge the unit after each trip to ensure it is working to the best of its ability.

Do I need to have one?
We strongly recommend to all our owners to have a GPS tracker in their van. Not only does it provide you with an extra layer of safety, but it can also give you vital evidence if there is a dispute with a hirer. Our insurer has also notified us that in the future, the cost of insurance is likely to be higher for vans that do not have a GPS unit installed due to the increased risk.
