Do I need an ABN?

I have a Personal RV

As we are a share-economy platform, we operate under the ATO tax ruling that you are able to rent out RV's in your Personal name and they are covered under our fleet. This may be one RV but as long as you operate under your name, rather than a business you may have multiple RV's on Camplify without an ABN.

1 RV listed on Camplify, not registered with ABN, no business name, just under personal name "Luke"

3 RV's listed on Camplify, not registered with ABN, no business name, just under personal name "Matthew"

I have Business RV's

You can decide to operate as a business on Camplify at any time. If you decide to operate as a business, you will need to register an ABN. If your intention of purchasing then renting an RV is purely to make a profit, if you have multiple RV’s, have a business name set up or are managing RV’s for others then you will require an ABN.

We recommend that when you reach 3 RV's on Camplify it is a great time to consider operating as a business.

We consider you to be a business when you;

  1. Use and have registered a business name
  2. Market your business through advertising

Examples:

1 RV, registered ABN and operating on a website called "Motorhome Mama"

3 RV's, registered ABN, operating as a business, called "Journey Unknown"
