Yes, Camplify has LIMITED Off-Road coverage included in the Premium Membership fleet policy only.
- Off-Road is only covered for Premium Membership Personal Use.
- Off-road is limited for Hire Use - (Please see information on Accident Excess).
- Off-Road is excluded for vans using Flexible Membership.
- Off-Road is excluded for Tow Vehicles listed on the Camplify Platform.
We have a "Hiring Terms and Conditions" that legally works on top of the Premium Membership so that hirers are held to our terms of use to reduce damages, separate to the policy.
Camplify Promise definition of "Off-Road"
"Off-Road" means any area that is neither a sealed or an unsealed road. This includes but is not limited to unformed roads, fire trails, tracks, river and tidal crossings, creek beds, beaches, streams, dams, rivers, floodwaters, sand, deserts, rocks, fields and paddocks.
"Unsealed Road" means a road that has been formed and constructed but is not sealed with a hard material such as tar, bitumen or concrete. This does not include a road that is undergoing temporary roadworks.
What are the Exclusions?
Going off-road also comes with a greater risk of damage occurring. We remind you that there are some standard exclusions from our Off-Road coverage including damage:
- to the underbody of the RV
- to the overhead of the RV
- as a result of partial or total immersion in water
- as a result of your lack of care or negligence when driving off road
- as a result of wear and tear (sandblasting, debris, stone chips, sandust and associated materials connected with travel on off road surfaces)
How much is Excess for Off-Road Damage?
Hirers:
Their Accident Excess will increase to $3,000 per incident for off-road use.

Premium Membership - Personal use excess for Off-road under the outlined terms is now $1000.
How can I approve an Off-Road Booking?
At the moment, all RV's show " No Off-Road" on the RV.
In the coming months, if an off-road hire is taking place, both the owner and hirer will need to agree to an off-road hire and the associated terms via the system. This is to provide you with extra protection during the hire.
- Off-road use needs to be authorised by the owner in writing - (through booking messages until Camplify Off-Road Feature is released)
- RV must be fit for purpose and declared suitable for off-road use by RV manufacturer
- Contact Camplify and get them to note down in our system that the hire iss going to be off road.
All Camplify Vans are strictly prohibited to go Off-Road unless you as the van owner provides permission in writing to take that van off-road, and you are aware of the destination and route your hirers are traveling.
Please Note: While many of our Vans are able to be taken on corrugated roads or the beach, there are some additional precautions that must be taken into consideration before approval.
- Is your vehicle built for offroad travel?
- Do you include items and safety gear in case of offroad maintenance?
- Are you aware of your hirer's offroad knowledge and vehicle capability?
- Are your hirers traveling alone?
- Are you aware of the route and road conditions?
Off-Road travel comes with a higher risk of damage.
We encourage both owners and hirers to sign Camplifys Off-Road Checklist at the time of hand over. This is an additional document that provides clarity and clear expectations of where the van is going whilst on hire and the condition required on return.
We want all our hirers to have a great time while away and to do that we advise owners to discuss the suitability and inclusions of the van for offroad travel and the type of tow vehicle for their requested off-road adventure prior to approval.
If you are thinking about letting your van go off-road? Here are some important things to remember whenever you are considering an off-road booking.
- Destination and itinerary
It is vital that you not only discuss the destination with your hirer, but that you also have a good understanding of the route they will be taking. Please do plenty of research before approving a route. (Top tip: If you have not completed the route yourself, ask other owners in the Facebook Owners Group if any of them have travelled via that route in the past) - Location, location, location
We strongly recommend installing a GPS device into your van if you are allowing it to go off road. This allows you to know where they are and importantly if they have stuck to the agreed-upon itinerary. www.camplify.com.au/gps-tracker - Suitability
it is important to only allow your van to go off-road if it was designed to do so. Non-off-road vans are much more likely to be damaged when traveling off road and this may not be appropriately covered dependant on your damage cover policy. - Maintenance
You must ensure your van has been serviced recently and that other necessary maintenance, eg tyres, has been completed. - Preventative measures
Due to the nature of off-road travel, there is a high likelihood that the van will incur incremental damage from stone chips, debris and/or sandblasting. In order to reduce the risk of this damage, we strongly recommend taking preventative measures, such as installing a stone guard to the front of the van. - Wear & tear

In order to add an extra layer of protection to each off-road booking, we recommend that owners and hirers complete our “Off-Road Checklist” during the handover in addition to the Pre Hire Checklist. This ensures that both parties are in complete agreement over the route and fully aware of the potential risks.
