Your driver's licence needs to comply with the below mentioned licence restrictions. You will need a translated or international driver's licence if your original licence is not in English. Please be aware that the translated/ international version is only valid in combination with your original licence.


Some of our vehicles do require a special heavy duty licence. If this is the case, the details can be found in the vehicle description. 


The following age and licence restrictions apply to the driver of the rental vehicle:

  • You need to be between the age of 21 years and 80 years. 
  • If the vehicle has a market value of over AUD 100,000 at the time of rental an age restriction between 25 years and 80 years applies.
  • Learner licensed, Provisional One (P1) and Provisional Two (P2) drivers are not allowed to drive a rental vehicle.


New Zealand

Your driver's licence needs to comply with the below mentioned licence restrictions.   • You need to be over the age of 21 years.
  • You need to be holding a current and unrestricted New Zealand driver's licence (full license) or international equivalent driver's license.


Germany

If you have a driver's licence that was issued before 1999, you may drive any vehicle.

Drivers holding a Class B licence that was issued after 1999 may drive a vehicle up to 3.5t.

Vehicles heavier than 3.5 tons require a Class C1 driver's licence.

  • You need to be holding a valid driver's license for at least 3 years. (driving with 17 doesn't count)
