SHAREaCAMPER has partnered with the New Zealand Automobile Association Inc. (AA) to provide vehicles rented through our platform with a network of assistance across New Zealand. Once the vehicle is registered with SHAREaCAMPER, it will be covered by SHAREaCAMPER’s roadside assistance year round.*


Besides contacting the Owner and SHAREaCAMPER, the traveller needs to contact AA if the vehicle breaks down or suffers any mechanical malfunction. The AA can be reached 24/7 under 0800 734 543.


Any charges charged by AA on the spot, will be covered by the traveller (driver). AA determines if it is a mechanical fault (vehicle failure) or non-mechanical fault (driver error). In the case of the incident being determined by AA as a mechanical fault the charges, minus any incurred additional costs, will be reimbursed to the traveller by the owner of the vehicle. 



In the instance that a vehicular breakdown is a result of maintenance or mechanical issues (e.g. engine transmission, electrical faults), the cost of call out and repair is passed onto the Owner.

 

If the vehicular breakdown is as a result of an error caused by the Traveller (e.g. lockout or lost keys, out of fuel, flat or burst tyre/s, flat battery), the Traveller is liable for the call out and repair costs.
